Business Card 2.0

How often have you walked into a meeting or met with a prospective client just to realize that you left your business cards at the office or studio? I’ll admit it, I do all the time.

One of the oldest marketing tools in the book, business cards have traditionally been the easiest and fastest way to share your contact information with a prospective client. However, what good is a business card if you forget to carry them?

We live in a digital age of websites, social networking, instant messaging and email so why not take your business cards digital as well.

Through a slick online service called MyDropCard.com you’ll never have another one one of those embarrassing moments ever again. Who knows you might actually even look cooler when you pull out your cell phone and instantly deliver your contact information right to their email inbox, in turn saving them the time and trouble have having to re-key your info back into their computer based address book.

Let me show you how to go from Zero to Hero in a few easy steps.

1. Sign up for an account at www.MyDropCard.com

2. Fill Out Your Account Info and Select a plan ranging from FREE to $9.99 per month.
Then click the Sign Up Button.

3. Modify Your Business and / or Personal Contact Information and Submit

4. START USING

USING MYDROPCARD.COM
There are a few methods of using MyDropCard, all which are very easy. I personally prefer to use the SMS method, i’ll outline them briefly below.

  1. WEBSITE - Send a DropCard through Your Contacts Page at mydropcard.com. Just log into your account click the contacts button enter the email address of the person you wish to receive it and click send.
  2. IPHONE - From your iPhone go to mydropcard.com. You’ll get a special iPhone optimized version of the site just login and send away.
  3. SMS - This is for me is the fastest way to send My DopCard info. Enter Your Personalized account number in the To: field and the email address of the person you wish to send to in the message field and click send. It will trigger the system to send your contact info to that email address you provided and you will receive a follow up sms that it has been sent. Couldn’t be simpler.

SETTINGS
Before you start sending make sure to take a quick peek at the settings section. This is where you can change the level of your account, change your password and a host of other nifty tools for making your DropCard experience more enjoyable.

That’s all there is to it. Never feel like a loser again, next time you don’t have your business cards just send them a DropCard. You can even make up a snappy excuse like your doing your part to save the environment ;-)

As always let me know if you found this useful or if you have other online tools like this that help you in your daily marketing online via our comments section of this post.
