Sending Large Files
Over at ProPhotoResource.com I was asked my preference for sending large file attachments. While most internet and/or hosting providers typically cap your file attachment ability at 10mb, there are times when larger files needed to be sent to a client for approval? In that case what do you do?
There are two services I have used for some time, both work flawlessly for moving large files over the internet. The first, and my favorite is YouSendIt.com. YouSendIt.com allows you to send files up to 100mb in size for free and offers paid plans which will allow you to send files up to 2GB in size. Click Here to view their rate plans. I find that for my needs the Free Plan works just fine, allowing me to send files up to 100MB in size. The Free Plan allows up to 1GB worth of data transfer per month. YouSendIt.com has a few other nifty features and services including SiteDrop, which allows your clients to upload files directly from your website. YouSendIt.com also provides plugins allowing you send files directly from Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, iPhoto, Corel and other popular applications.
My second favorite service for sending large file attachments is DropSend.com. DropSend.com also provides a No Cost Plan, allowing you to send up to 5 files per month, up to 1GB each. Click Here to view their Rate Plans. One nice feature of DropSend.com is the ability to store your files on their servers for later retrieval or backup purposes. Sending files with DropSend.com is a breeze. Files can be sent via their website or by downloading their Desktop Uploader Tool, which allows you to send files right from your desktop.
Both systems listed above work in all major browsers on both PC and Mac.
While these services are MY particular favorites, there are plenty of other options for sending large file attachments, i’ll list a few others below.

JerBear:
Just wanted to add to the YouSendIt feature that really helps me out.
I use it several times a week and with all of the different clients that I send to, it is very helpful to be able to “Track” the file to see if it has been downloaded by them and how many times. Then the “follow up call” is more productive.
It also helps to know that info when a client claims “they never got it” line.
Also like the plugin that allows for direct send from OutLook.
