iPhone Compatibility

There is no question that the Apple iPhone has taken the world by storm over the past year, photographers everywhere are using their iPhones for everything from checking email to sharing portable portfolios.

One of the coolest features in my opinion is the Mobile Safari browser which displays websites the way designers intended them to be seen. If you’ve used other mobile browsers in the past you know exactly what i’m talking about.

Even though the Safari mobile browser can display websites properly, viewers still suffer from the sloooowww connection speeds of wireless surfing, hopefully remedied in the upcoming weeks with Apples new iPhone 3g.

Alas there is a solution for sharing your WordPress blog with your iPhone viewers. iWphone Wordpress and Theme is a WordPress plugin that allows you to present an optimized for iphone version of your blog to visitors viewing your blog with the mobile safari browser.

Installation is a breeze, just upload the file iwphone.php into your wp-content/plugins folder and then the folder called iwphone-by-contentrobot into the wp-content/themes directory. Once everything is uploaded, log into your WordPress admin and activate the plugin. iPhone visitors will automatically be directed to the optimized version of your blog, while computer visitors will continue to browse the usual site.

We are currently running the iWphone Wordpress Plugin and Theme here at PhotographersHandbook.com, so if you are mobile surfer who just can’t stay away, we’ve got you covered.
